Matamata Rotarians will this year again be out in town selling Christmas trees in the lead-up to the festive season. Rotary Club of Matamata director David Gasquione said the club had sold Christmas trees in the town for many years and the project was a key annual fundraiser. The trees we are selling have been pro- fessionally grown and cared for so they are a top-quality tree to put in your home, Mr Gasquione said. This project is one of many which Rotary undertakes and the money raised will be used to help with the many programmes and causes that Rotary supports. We really appreciate all the support the community has given us in past years and hope that once again this year people will be willing to purchase a tree from Rotary, Mr Gasquione said. During the week, the trees are available for purchase at Kaimai Garden Centre, Four Seasons Garden Centre and Pippins, while on Saturday, December 8, 15 and 22 they will be sold by Rotarians at the New World car park. They will also be available at the annual Christmas market at Matamata Primary School on Saturday, December 8. Mr Gasquione said the trees cost between $35 and $50 depending on their size. For more information contact David Gasquione on 0274 842 090. Choir in tune with Christmas Christmas with a twist: The Matamata Christmas Choir has been spreading joy through song for many years and this year was no different, with many Matamata residents taking the opportunity to see the choir sing at All Saints Anglican Church. The theme this year was Traditional with a Twist''. Members of the audience were invited to have a singalong. A number of items were also performed by local groups including Matamata Brass and Matamata Intermediate student Chris Reichmuth. Katrina Tanirau went along with her camera to enjoy the sweet music.
